Shreya & Mahir
Shreya & Mahir’s Colourful Haldi & Nikkah Celebration at Hungarian Hall Estate
On 21st August 2026, Hungarian Hall Estate was filled with colour, music, family and celebration as we welcomed Shreya & Mahir for their beautiful Haldi and Nikkah ceremonies.
With 180 guests joining them for the day, we extended our marquee to create plenty of space for everyone. It was wonderful to see so many different areas of the Estate being used throughout the celebrations, from the gardens and meadow to the marquee and ceremony room.
A Haldi Ceremony Under the Willow Tree
The day began with Shreya & Mahir’s Haldi ceremony beneath our beautiful willow tree. Surrounded by the gardens, colourful flowers and their family and friends, it was such a lovely setting for this traditional celebration.
The bright outfits and décor looked incredible against the greenery of the Estate, and the glorious August sunshine made the gardens feel even more special.
Guests could also have beautiful henna designs created by the henna artists who were on site during the day, adding another lovely element to the celebrations.
From the Car Park by Tuk Tuk!
With 180 guests arriving, Shreya & Mahir came up with a brilliant way of transporting everyone from the car park to the marquee – a tuk tuk!
It was such a fun addition to the day and certainly one of the more memorable ways we have seen guests arrive at Hungarian Hall!
A Marquee Reception for 180 Guests
For the reception, our marquee was extended and set for 180 guests, with long banquet-style tables creating a wonderfully sociable atmosphere.
Bright pink, orange and blue table runners brought a fabulous splash of colour to the marquee, alongside colourful candles and simple floral arrangements created by Lucy from LB Floral. Against the ivory drapes, chandeliers and fairy lights of the marquee, the colours looked fantastic.
Food for the celebrations was provided by The Indian Chefs, while DJ Arun took care of the music and entertainment.
The Nikkah Ceremony
Later in the day, the celebrations moved to the dancefloor for Shreya & Mahir’s Nikkah ceremony. Transforming this part of the marquee into a ceremony space meant guests could remain at the heart of the celebrations while still creating a distinct setting for this important moment of the day.
We were also pleased to be able to offer our indoor ceremony room as a dedicated prayer room, allowing the different spaces at Hungarian Hall to be adapted around exactly what Shreya & Mahir and their guests needed.
And Even a Game of Cricket!
Of course, with acres of grounds to enjoy, it would have been a shame not to make the most of them! During the day, some of the younger guests headed out onto the meadow for a game of cricket.
We love seeing our grounds used in different ways, and it added to the wonderfully relaxed, family-focused atmosphere of the celebration.
A Wonderful Multicultural Wedding Celebration in Suffolk
Shreya & Mahir’s day was a fantastic example of just how versatile Hungarian Hall Estate can be. From a Haldi ceremony beneath the willow tree and a Nikkah ceremony in the marquee, to henna artists, a prayer room, a tuk tuk, Indian catering and cricket on the meadow, the whole Estate came alive.
One of the things we love most about being an exclusive-use wedding venue is giving couples the freedom to make the space their own and incorporate the traditions, ceremonies and celebrations that are important to them.
A huge congratulations to Shreya & Mahir. Thank you for choosing Hungarian Hall Estate to host such a joyful and colourful day. We loved having you, your families and all 180 of your guests here with us.
